Courtney Markwell is the newest library clerk at Lovington Public Library.  Courtney has worked at the library for three months.  Courtney's main duties are the circulation desk:  checking out books, issuing library cards, and signing patrons on to use the computers.  Courtney also works with the Homebound program and supplies, takes care of the mail, checks in newspapers and magazines.  Courtney is an important part of our library team and helps to make the services offered by the library run smoothly.

Taking Books Extravaganza

This summer the library saw 199 participants, who together read a total of 1339 books in 1169 hours.

During our Extravaganza this year's participants went over the 1000 hours reading goal and got to throw water balloons at Lisa.  Participants also enjoyed pinatas, the limbo, a dino ring-toss, and the very popular Monster Stomp Foot Race!  There were prizes, candy, and good times had by all.
